huckabacks travels down the Mississippi River with a blowout slave, Jim. huck lived in a small town with his genuinely father, Pap; a drunk who had ca utilise him many problems. However, the character of Jim, the gala slave, is portrayed as the true father. Because Jim acts as a fictional character model to Huck along their journey down the river, he proves to be more of a father to Huck than his original father, Pap. Jim taught Huck many lessons both intentionally and indirectly. Jim shows that slaves are real people, just like himself, despite the color of their skin. Huck gained a greater amount of respect for Jim when he talked of missing his family. Jim withal shared with Huck that he remembers beating his little four-year-old miss once. Jim told Huck he regretted his actions and was saddened by this mistake and of how he misses his family. Jim makes Huck realize that slaves are not different because of color; they deplete feelings, emotions, and love their families just as much as whites. Huck came from a time where blacks were considered disgusting and whites were the dominate, worthy race. Huck used to think of Jim as a low- tone, but quickly cognise how wrong he and the rest of the south were.

White women were a class higher than blacks. Black women were the worst class because they had no potential worth besides for sex and slave-work. Women were taught to clean, cook, enrapture their man and look after the children. They could not vote or own property. Twain was trying to show us how life was truly like back then in the south. Women who were widows commonly didnt get much profit from their husbands land or riches. They were deemed unworthy and were not capable of discussion a mans work.
