The dramatic meaning conveyed in this play is about the quarter life crises stage of life where teenaged people couldnt grow up and dont know how to It is about the younger generations who evictt key out themselves and the fact that they have no thinking about their future. These can all be seen in the two main characters Emma (Kathryn Marquet) and mob (Liam Nunan). pack cannot find him self at all and is stuck in the teenage stage of not growing up and not knowing how to. Emma eventually found herself and got out of the quarter life crises stage towards the end of the play. She had no idea at the rootage of the play about her future but eventually she became much aware of it towards the end. Whereas James never found himself and is left obscure in the middle and not knowing what to do with his life.
The quarter life crisis exists more amongst the younger generations and could be seen when Gary tells James When I was your age I was way more grown up than your are now and If a war broke out tomorrow you would just huddle up into a dinky ball and die. This shows that the older generations rarely has moved through this stage of life and that they dealt with it much easier. Towards the end James static cannot find him self and this also once again reminds the earreach what this play is about. Richard Jordan had been successful in conveying the overall idea of the quarter life crisis throughout his play by incorporating this idea throughout.
