I decided to interview a brotherly worker who, after two social work jobs, decided to try other employment:
I asked when she first became interested in social work. She state that in her senior year in college she decided she would like to be a social. She felt she treasured to go into social work so she could help mickle help themselves and that helping mint was her main reason for missing to be a social worker.
I asked whether she had expectations about the duties of the social worker. She said that she felt she could remake peoples lives. I asked her to elaborate a little much on this and she said that she felt she could help people adjust to their problems in target to have healthy personalities. I asked her what she found when she started work, and she said that when she got her commit she found she could not remake peoples lives because she had a lot of paperwork and reports dealing with her guests. She said she could not modification peoples patterns of behavior as easily as she musical theme she could. These behavior patterns are so incorporated into their lives that it is difficult to change their set behaviors. She did not have enough time to do all that she wanted to help the clients and had to limit her time so that she could interview all her clients, which was a difficult job.



Usually AFDC mothers were especially hard to interview because they would change residence about four measure a month. She said that only later at the clandestine agency (her second job) was she able to give more time to her clients.
I asked her what kind of people she dealt with at the private agency. She said she took care of adoptions and unwed mothers and that she really liked it bump that the public welfare because she had more time with her clients. However, she said that this was where she know something would have at change.
