I agree with the brief counselling definition, as I see counselling as a safe ass where clients can talk confidentially about whatever they like, with the liberty to explore difficult, painful or uncomfortable feelings, whilst being prize and not judged. My interpretation of the British association of counsellors and clinical psychologist (Bacp) good framework for good practice is it gives counsellors guidelines on the values, ethical principles and personal moral qualities required to deliver a bonny and honest level of kick to the client.
The main elements are that the practician honours the clients fidelity, respect their autonomy, promote client beneficence, have a commitment to be non-malfeasance, whilst respecting the clients human rights for justice and equal opportunity. It highlights the brilliance of informing clients of the quality of care that will be provided and clarify and agreeing their rights and responsibilities.
